Caleen B. Lawson, 80, of Toledo, OH, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, July 15, 2018, in Kingston Center of Sylvania. Born January 21, 1938, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Calvin and Helyn (Dorsey) Myerly. A 1955 graduate of the former DeVilbiss High School, she married Curtis A. Lawson on May 27, 1960. Caleen was a born again Christian who deeply loved Jesus. She was a dedicated member for 50 years at Liberty Baptist Church in Toledo, where she served as Nursery Supervisor for over 30 years. She and her husband were foster parents for 25 years, caring for hundreds of infants and children. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop for 7 years. Caleen also had a real passion for her grandchildren, whom she loved, adored, and cherished every moment she spent with them.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Curtis; children, Ronald (Mary) Lawson and Cynthia (Alfredo) Maturino; grandchildren, Carmen Travis, Paul Lawson, Alyssandra (Kolby) Williams and Erica (Kris) King.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Liberty Baptist Church, 5501 Jackman Rd., Toledo, OH, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Pastor Brian Shaffer, officiating. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
